On April 9th, local time, Ningbo economic and trade delegation participated in the Slovak-Ningbo Economic and Trade Cooperation Fair held in Bratislava, Slovakia. More than 20 representatives of Chinese enterprises and more than 80 business representatives of Slovakia participated in the conference.

It is reported that this is the first time that the economic and trade delegation of Ningbo visited Central and Eastern Europe after the China-CEEC Expo was upgraded to a national exhibition. This exchange will become an important part of the trade promotion work of Ningbo “16+1” economic and trade cooperation demonstration zone.

As the first guest country of honor after the promotion of the Expo, Slovakia has deepened its cooperation with Ningbo in the areas of government exchanges, trade, education, culture and tourism in recent years.

“Slovakia is one of the fastest growing economies in the EU in recent years. It has a good investment environment and labor resources. It is also an important country along the “Belt and Road” and has a special appeal to Chinese investors.”

In 2018, the total import and export volume of Ningbo and Slovakia reached US$146 million, a year-on-year increase of 58.5%. The export value was US$108 million, a year-on-year increase of 36.9%; the import value was US$38 million, an increase of 184.9% year-on-year.

At the meeting, the delegation introduced the first China-Central and Eastern European Countries Expo and International Consumer Goods Expo and the construction of the "16+1" economic and trade cooperation demonstration zone, and invited domestic and foreign enterprises to visit Ningbo, discuss cooperation, and invest in entrepreneurship.
