Recently, Daegu-Ningbo International Art Exchange Exhibition was rounded off successfully at the Daegu Culture and Art Center. Such characteristic folk crafts goods of Ningbo as the “Yue kiln porcelain”, the “gold and silver embroidery”, the “gold paint”, the “miniature Ningbo-style furniture”, the “Xiepu farmer painting” and the “bamboo root carving” are well received by the South Korean people.

Reportedly, Ningbo Federation of Literature and Arts and Ningbo Delegation of Folk Artists Association attended the Daegu Art Festival at the invitation of the General Federation of Daegu Arts and Culture Groups. On September 24, as one of the important events of the festival, the Daegu-Ningbo International Art Exchange Exhibition was held. Kim Jong-sung, president of General Federation of Daegu Arts and Culture Groups, highly appreciated the exhibits from Ningbo, hoping that the exhibition would become a space for artists from both cities to enhance artistic exchange and friendship.

Daegu, located at the southern end of Gyeongsangbuk-do in southern South Korea, is the third largest city in South Korea, known as a “City of Literature and Art”. In 2002, Ningbo established friendly exchanges and cooperation ties with Daegu and has since carried out exchanges and cooperation in such fields as economy and trade, education, culture and personnel training. In 2018, after successfully completing four years’ exchange and visit, the two cities agreed to launch a second round of exchange visit activities in 2019, of which this exhibition is the fifth cultural exchange activity.
