617 Super-Capacitor Buses to Be Put into Service by End of February

On January 10th, 305 super-capacitor buses from five public transport companies, including Ningbo Public Transportation Corporation, Ningbo Gongyun Group, Dongfang Bus Service Co., Ltd, Ningbo Urban and Rural Public Transportation Ltd., and Beilun Public Transportation Co., Ltd., were set for drive. Since the charging facilities in 28 bus stations have been constructed, the city’s 617 super-capacitor buses, manufactured by CRRC Corporation Limited, will be put into operation by the end of February. 

It is reported that about 30 bus stations will be used for charging up  340 electricity-powered buses that from Ningbo Public Transportation Corporation, for instance the Ninth Hospital Station, Huizhan Road Station, Xiejia Road Station, Middle Hongtang Road Station, Zhenming Road Station, Gulou Station and etc.; 28 stations for 265 electricity-powered buses from Ningbo Gongyun Group, Dongfang Bus Service Co., Ltd, Ningbo Urban and Rural Public Transportation Ltd., involving stations as University of Nottingham Station and South Donghuan Road Station; and the Changjiang Road Station for 12 from Beilun Public Transportation Co., Ltd..

Ningbo has seen an increasing number of new-energy buses in its bus system. And there will be 1555 electric buses run in the six districts of Ningbo, together with the existent BYD electric vehicles, accounting for 28.7% of the total number of the city’s buses and covering more than 50 lines by the end of February. Moreover, over 70% buses in the city’s six districts are powered by clean or new energy apart from oil-electric hybrids, oil-gas hybrids and LNG (liquefied natural gas) etc..
