Ningbo-Zhoushan Port, located at the middle of the coastline of Mainland China, is a transportation hub of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st –century Maritime Silk Road, near the busiest major world sea route, and an ideal distribution center. By the end of 2015, Ningbo-Zhoushan Port had opened trade routes to 600 ports in 100 countries and regions with 235 newly added lines, including 130 across oceans, extending westward to the Yangtze River Delta Economic Zone and Western China, eastward to East Asia and countries and regions around the Pacific Rim. From 2014 to 2016, One Belt One Road shipping routes had increased from 74 to 82, yearly sailings from 3780 to 4412 and yearly container volume from 8.38 million TEUs to 9.08 million TEUs. Shipping routes from China to Southeast Asia increased from 20 to 28, covering Vietnam, Thailand, Burma and Malysia, which made Ningbo-Zhoushan Port a freight transfer station for export goods from Southeast Asia to Japan, Korea and North America.
