The national inspection experimental zone (for China-CEEC trade facilitation) at the core area of Beilun District has recently been inaugurated. As one of the five core experimental blocks, the Modern International Logistics Park of Ningbo Economic and Technological Development Zone has become the first national inspection experimental zone themed on trade facilitation in China.

Reportedly, among the top five national inspection experimental zones for China-CEEC trade facilitation, three are located in Beilun District. Since April this year, when Ningbo Economic and Technological Development Zone signed the cooperation memo for building the experimental zone with the Beilun District Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, the construction of the core area has been steadily accelerated. In the first eight months, the experimental zone achieved a total import and export volume of US$3.89 billion, up by 10.5% over the same period of last year. With the settlement of 586 foreign trade enterprises and services for 6094 domestic enterprises, the zone has become the largest export agglomeration area for market procurement.

The implementation plan for the experimental zone set the four development goals for policy support, supervision optimization, coordinated innovation and efficiency & convenience. Through innovative mechanism, superimposed functions, integrated resources and interactive development, the experimental zone aims to build itself an effective supporting platform with an in-depth participation in the "Belt and Road" construction and the strategy of enlarging the global economic and trade cooperation.
