Forty-one calligraphy and painting works of Tang Yin, the famous artist of the Ming dynasty, from Shanghai Museum, Nanjing Museum, Liaoning Provincial Museum and Suzhou Museum were exhibited in Ningbo Museum yesterday. The theme of his painting works includes landscapes, figures, birds and flowers. The exhibition will last two months.
Tang Yin is all along depicted as “The NO.1 Artistic Genius in the Jiang-nan Region”. Yesterday, Shan Guolin, director of painting and calligraphy department of Shanghai Museum and member of National Committee of Cultural Relics, introduced the notable artist to the reporters. Tang Yin was an accomplished and distinguished artist, but his official career was rough and tragic. This exhibition selected Tang Yin’s representative works in his early, middle and late years, showing his versatile painting styles and profound insight.
