According to latest bulletin of the Port Authorities, the Port of Ningbo handled a cargo thruput of 25.18  million tons in January, up 30.1% over the same period last year, and a container thruput of 0.968 million TEUs, up 19.9%, thus having made a good start for the new year.

In face of the short supply of the power-coal, the Port authority is going all out to transport coal and exerting great efforts in transferring coal. In January it handled 2.56 million tons of coal, an increase of 65.7% over the same period last year, which set a record high in history.
In January the Port of Ningbo opened a route to EU and a route to the South America. By the end of January, the Port has 218 container lines to other parts of the word, including 115 trunk lines. The monthly voyages total 987, also a record high.
A breakthrough has been made in rail-sea through transport. In the containers going through sea-rail through transport totaled 1000 containers. Since Juanary 14 when the Yong-Wen seal-rail transport line opened, it transported 706 containers in the remaining half of January.
The container transportation of the domestic trade keeps stable. It reached 96,000 TEU in January, up 49%.
