Statistics from Ningbo Customs shows that the export of high-tech products in the first five month increased against the financial resources all over the world. The total export amount reached 68,38 million USD which means there is an increase of 18.6 % over the same period of last year.

Due to the financial crisis, the export of high-tech products in our city was thwarted. Since the October of last year, Chinese government implemented the policy of tax reimbursement for export to encourage export. Enterprises in our city showed great enthusiasm for export of high-tech products. What’s more, the policy of tax reimbursement for export help enterprises relieve the pressure of cost and have the space for increasing benefit. the increase of export of high-tech products in the first half of the year is expected to have greatly promoted the healthy and sustainable development of high-tech industry.

The export of high-tech industry in our city has stepped out of the traditional practice which is characterized by processing products for foreign enterprises. The general trade in our city has increased fast in the first half of the year. Since processing products for foreign enterprises is rather low in terms of content of technology, enterprises in Ningbo often find it is hard to obtain key technology and raw material from foreign enterprises, which means they can not obtain high added-value. Enterprises in Ningbo now pay more attention to developing their own technology and cultivate their own ability to develop new products. This helps them step out of dependence on foreign enterprises and obtain more benefit. Statistics from Ningbo Customs shows that the ordinary trade export amount of high-tech products in the first five month reached 51,5 million USD, which account for 75.3% of the whole export amount.
