From July 1, 2009, Chinese citizens can visit Japan as individuals rather than witha tour group. At present, only the Embassy of Japan in Beijing, Consulate General of Japan in Shanghai and Guangzhou accept the individual tourist visa application. Howerver, individual tourist visa applicants should go to the travel agencies that are designated by the Japanese embassy and consulates for application. Visas will be issued to Chinese tourists with an annual income of at least 250,000 yuan or they have to show they are financially able to have a tour to Japan. |
