According to Xiuhua Agency on October 5, Xinjinyang, a super oil tanker loaded with 283,000 tons of raw oil, directly entered Ningbo-Zhoushan Port. This indicates that Ningbo-Zhanshan Port has the capacity of receiving 300,000-tonnage super large ships.

This is also the first seaworthy check for the 300,000-tonnage deep water man-made channel at Xiashimen that Ningbo and Zhoushan started construction since May 2005.

The safe passage of the full-loaded Xinjinyang, with load draught of 21.2m, through the shoal at Xiashimen, indicates that Ningbo and Zhoushan have solved the problem of insufficient water depth.
