Environmental Protection, an Index for Eligibility of Going Public
2008-06-17 07:39:15

According to the report by environment channel of www.people.com, the list of 10 companies that failed to pass the check of environment protection for listing, was released by the State Environment Protection Bureau.  Among them, 8 have completed their and adjustment reconstruction and passed the second checking by the State Environment Protection Bureau and the other 2 are ready for second check.

As the saying goes, if one man guards the pass, ten thousand are unable to get through. It is great to have an environment-friendly checking system for the companies to be listed. If we want to know whether a company has been listed or not, we should check whether it is environment-friendly or not.

As I have noticed, problems of the 10 companies not passing the checking are as follows: some of their affiliated companies did not implement the requirements for environment protection in a strict way; they did not eliminate backward production techniques and equipment that seriously pollutes environment; they did not treat the waste in accordance with relevant State regulations. Those problems not only threat the health of people and the environment safety, but also impede the economic development. If companies went public with those problems, it will be like setting up a time bomb, leaving a hidden trouble for the environment we are living in. At the same time, it is necessary to create fair competition for companies that are law and regulation abiding.
