With the Zhoushan Archipelago as its natural shelter, it enjoys small waves, stable current, wide waters and is free from ice and silt. It is in proximity to the international navigational channel, and the shallowest area is about 18.5 meters deep, which can meet the requirements of free call by 200,000 DWT ships at any time, and call by 250,000 DWT ships at high tide.
Daxie Island has a 26-kilometer-long coastline, with a section 10.7 kilometers long being a deep water coastline with its water depth reaching 20-30 meters. 100-150 away from the bank, it is an ideal place to build  large and super-large berths with short approaches and low investment. The spacious hinterland close to the coastline can meet the requirements of the construction of large port-related industrial projects.

More than 12 berths ranging from 3000-250,000 tonnage have been constructed with a handling capacity of 20 millions tons, and berths specializing in oil products, liquid gas, containers terminals, bulk cargo terminals are emerging in the west and east harbor districts.
