According to the report by Wuhan Evening on October 15, in the zoo of Wuhan, dogs made 400 jumps and black bears made 40 movements on the parallel bars each day in the golden week holidays. During the holidays, animals were overloaded for performance and many of them were very tired. As a result, many animals went on the strike, such as a small tiger lying down without any move.
During the golden week vocation, most people get the chance for having a good rest. Those people who have to work during holidays could get a handsome pay for extra working time. If any one is force to work overtime, he or she can write to the related government department to seek protection. During the golden week, human beings were relaxed, but the animals in the zoos were really exhausted. They not only had no chance to rest, but also had to work more.
From business perspective, golden week is the golden opportunity to earn more money. For the zoo, animals are the best properties to earn money. In the holidays, more tourists come to the zoo to enjoy the performance of animals, so animals have to play for more times. As animals are not machines, they will become overloaded and tired. People can complaint if they suffer, but animals have no way but go on strike to air their grievances. However, animals on strike often draws fists, wooden sticks, thong and even cigarette ends from the zoo workers who force them to continue performance.
In fact, in many zoos around the world, people go together harmoniously with the animals even in the vocations. Instead of suffering from tortures imposed by zoo workers, Animals take performance as pleasure. This is due to the strict protection of animals and restriction on the performance time in the zoo to guarantee the animals welfare. Those experiences of put human being and animals in harmony deserve our learning.
