Cixi Pilot Middle School is a shareholding school jointly established by Ningbo Cizhuang Bearing Industrial and Trade Co., Ltd. and Cixi Middle School (a provincial first-level key school). Situated in urban Cixi, the school covers an area of 50mu and floor space of 20,000 square metres. With total investment up to RMB28,800,000, it can accommodate 24 junior high classes. Bordering its pilot senior high school which is being built, the school campus resembles a park that adopts a combination of Oriental and Western styles to render an air of grandeur and elegance. Many first-class educational facilities are available here, including computer rooms, multimedia classrooms, various laboratories, electronic reading rooms, libraries, gymnasiums and apartments for both teachers and students.
The school implements the headmaster responsibility system under leadership of Board of Directors, follows the principle of "live by virtue and win by quality" and gives foremost priority to the good of students themselves. In its employment are 56 registered teachers, 9 self-recruited teachers. The school staff members total over 120, 7 of which are special-grade teachers, 26 of which are first-grade teachers, and 15 of which are cited as excellent teachers or academic leaders, with over 70% of them having bachelor degree.

Two of these tasks are entitled "Assessment of Teaching in Shareholding Schools" and "How Students could Achieve Optimum Development" respectively.
