The main responsibilities of Ningbo Municipal Economic and Technological Cooperation are:

1. To implement the state and provincial guidelines and policies concerning further opening up to the outside, economic and technological cooperation and developing the West; together with departments concerned, to work out regulations and policies to develop cooperation in economy, science and technology, education, culture and health with other provinces and cities and organize their implementation

2. In accordance with the principle of "strength complementing, mutual favor and benefit, joint development and co-prosperity " and together with departments concerned, to work out the layout, annual plan of such domestic economic and technological cooperation as participating developing the West, joint invitation of business investment and connecting Shanghai (Putong) and organize their implementation together with departments concerned after reporting to the municipal government and getting approved.

3. To undertake the investigation, selection, counterpart service and supervision of development projects in Middle and Western region.

4. To boost and develop regional economic combination and cooperation; to undertake the daily liaison work of the Economic Coordination Association of Central Cities along Yangtze River, Yangtze River Delta Economic Coordination Association, Connecting Shanghai Office and Mayor Conference of East Zhejiang Economic Cooperation Zone; together with department concerned, to undertake and participate the regular meetings of regional economic organizations; to organize and carry out the economic union and cooperation of enterprises and institutions in the region.

5. Together with departments concerned, to investigate, collect, sort out and put together situations and information relating to such economic and technological cooperation as domestic invitation of business investment, cooperation with domestic sister cities, market expansion, West Development; to put forward countermeasures and suggestions, to provide decision-making reference for the officials of the Municipal Government.

6. To provide information for the municipal enterprises and institutions; to coordinate various investment and cooperation in other regions by related industries of the city; together with departments concerned, to undertake project negotiation, coordination and service for exhibition activities such as Ningbo being invited to other regions or other regions coming to Ningbo.

7. To take charge of the liaison, coordination and service work for offices of other regions in Ningbo, enterprises representative offices and enterprises investing in Ningbo; to undertake the recording of the establishment of offices of other regions in Ningbo and enterprises investing in Ningbo; to examine and verify the establishment of offices in other regions of the country by Ningbo Municipal organs, enterprises and institutions.

8. Together with departments concerned, to undertake reception of visit by economic and technological cooperation delegation from other provinces or cities; to be in charge of the organization, liaison and service for economic and technological cooperation visit by the municipal officials to other provinces and cities; to be entrusted by the Municipal Government to take charge of the liaison and coordination with domestic sister cities.

9. To guide and coordinate economic and technological cooperation between counties, cities and districts; to guide the party building and ideological and political work of offices and enterprises of other regions in Ningbo.

10. To undertake other issues assigned by the Municipal Government.
