The main responsibilities of Ningbo Municipal Office of Counterpart Poverty Relief are:

1. To implement guidelines and policies concerning poverty relief and development and counterpart relief from party central committee and state council.

2. To study and put forward policies and measures of poverty relief and development inside the city; to conduct scientific argumentation over key projects of poverty relief and development and carry them into execution; to check and monitor the implementation of responsibility system of taking responsibility at different levels in poverty relief and development; to coordinate relations with the units being helped; to be in charge of the target check of the poverty development.

3. To be in charge of the counterpart poverty relief work with southwest China's Guizhou province; to make the implementation plan of the counterpart poverty relief; to guide the realization of counterpart poverty relief projects of all counties (cities), districts and city level departments; to be in charge of the organization of the implementation of city-level projects; to accomplish the collection and statistics analysis of poverty relief projects; to coordinate the liaison work of related counterpart poverty relief counties in Guizhou province and the city of Ningbo.

4. To carry out the routine work of counterpart poverty relief to Three Gorges Reservoir area and Biru county of Tibet; to investigate and decide counterpart poverty relief projects and put them into use; to track, analyze the counterpart relief projects and collect statistics; to coordinate the liaison work of the counterpart relief area and the city of Ningbo.

5. To be acquainted with and examine the use of poverty relief and development fund and counterpart relief project fund; to manage the poverty relief development fund and counterpart relief fund; to guide the work of the municipal poverty relief foundation.

6. To publicize poverty relief and mobilize social forces to participate the activity; to collect fund in various ways; to carry out such social poverty relief activities as clothing donation.

7. To be in charge of the liaison and service work of the investigation tour or visit led by the officials of the city to the counterpart relief area; to undertake the coordination, liaison and service of related economic cooperation projects.

8. To undertake other work assigned by the Municipal Committee, Municipal Government and cadres teams.
